PPP Women Wing Punjab office bearers called on Chairman PPP

Islamabad, 14 July, 2017: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that respect for women is vital for a civilized society but unfortunately in dictatorships in Pakistan during the struggle for democracy, women were tortured and imprisoned.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was talking to a women delegation comprised of President PPP Women Wing Punjab Samina Khalid Gurkhi, Vice President Nasira Meo and General Secretary Nargis Faiz Malik who called on PPP Chairman at Zardari House Islamabad on Friday.
PPP Chairman said that PPP takes pride in the fact that Begum Nusrat Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto both struggled for democracy all their lives. PPP in its manifestoes has always kept its promises it made regarding women. Former President Asif Ali Zardari introduced Benazir Income Support program in the last PPP government so the fruits of democracy should reach deserving women directly. PPP government also carried out effective legislations against harassment of women and torture against them.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari asked delegation to strengthen Party and focus on membership of the party. Future belongs to women, he said. Women played a very important role in the victory of PPP candidate in bye-election in Gilgit-Baltistan. He said that women will always find Bakhtawar and Asifa with them. It is necessary for women wing of the party to work hard for the rights of women, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said.
Senator Sehar Kamran, Chaudhry Yasin, Syed Mir Muhammad and Najam-ud-Din Khan also called on PPP Chairman.
