Khursheed Shah asks PM to convene joint Parliament session or APC over threats to Pakistan

Pakistan does not want war with India but would aggressively retaliate if war waged: Qamar Zaman Kaira
Karachi. 29.9.2016: It is the obligation of the incumbent federal government to either convene a joint session of the Parliament or summon an APC over the threats to Pakistan. Federal government has to respond in three days or else Pakistan People’s Party would do it for the sake of the state and then would announce its strategy. The joint session of the Parliament or the APC is meant to debate over the pros and cons of the threats from the India government especially the war hysteria of the India Prime Minister Nareendra Modi.
He was addressing an exigent joint press conference with PPP senior leader Qamar Zaman Kaira at PPP Media cell Sindh Thursday evening. He was flanked by Chief Minister’s adviser on labour Senator Saeed Ghani, Jameel Soomro, Ghulam Qadir, Fida Hussain Dhakkan and Lateef Mughal.
Shah said that PPP has always played a vibrant role in Pakistan whether it comes to the protection of democratic system in the country or threats and aggression against Pakistan. PPP had earlier played its role for saving the democracy and is now striving for the security of the state of Pakistan, which is superior to anything.
He said PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had called the party leaders, Qamar Zama kairq and him at Bilawal House to discus about the situation that has emerged after LOC violations by India and war hysteria of Indian PM Modi.
In light of the meeting, PPP feels that the incumbent federal government has to fulfill its obligations for taking the all stakeholders and the entire nation into confidence and should either convene a joint session of Parliament or summon an APC.
Speaking on the occasion, Qamar Zaman Kaira said that PPP, being key party in opposition, is fulfilling its responsibilities for keeping the nation united against the Indian aggressive designs. Modi has created a wave of war after which peace and stability of the entire region is at stake.
He said that though Pakistan does not want war but Modi should realise that his attempts for blocking flow of rivers to Pakistan would be tantamount to war and should stay prepared for the consequences.
He said PPP has variety of reservations on Prime Minister’s stances he took during his address to the UN General Assembly such as not mentioning the India Spy Kalbhoshan Yadev and India’s interference in Balouchistan, but since Pakistan is at present facing serious challenges, PPP has for the time being set all the reservations aside and has decided to stay united with the incumbent federal government.

Nawab Yousuf Talpur strongly condemnd India for deliberate LOC violations

“If India wages a full war against Pakistan, the world would witness unity and support for Pak Army”

Karachi. 29.9.2016: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MNA resulting in casualties of Pak army troopers. The Modi government has always ignored the peace process and friendly relations with neighbouring countries in the region especially Pakistan. Indian war mania is in no one’s benefit and India especially the United Nations should realise that the use of tactical weapons for the defence of the motherland Pakistan would be high if India would continue with violations resulting in civilians and military casualties. The UN has to take notice of LOC violations and inflicting casualties inside Pakistan for preventing the strong likelihood of use of any tactical weapon.

The UN and the international community does need any further proof as all proofs are open for declaring India as a country that promotes terrorism within the territory of neighbouring countries especially Pakistan.

In a statement issued by PPP Media Cell Sindh, he said that there is no need of proving India as a terror-promoting state in the region as Indian Prime Minister Modi had on the eve of August 15 this current year openly stated India would punish Pakistan by promoting unrest and terror inside Balouchistan. In addition, an Indian retired Army General Dharmindar Singh had also warned Pakistan as he had stated that Pakistan should take care of Balouchistan, Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa and Sindh.

While addressing Chief of Army Staffs General Raheel Sharif, he said that Pak Army should rest assured that every single Jiala of PPP stands with Pak Army shoulder to shoulder and that if India would wage a full war against Pakistan, the world would witness the unity of the nation with Pak Army, support and resistance against the enemy.

He also urged upon Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to convene an all party conference on LOC violations by India and announce a national plan to counter the Indian government’s war mania.

‘Waging Twitter wars drowns out development goals’

ISLAMABAD: There is great potential for both Pakistan and India to cooperate in areas of environment and climate change, but the cause is lost amid drums of war banging on Twitter.

This was stated by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Farhatullah Babar while addressing a seminar on sustainable development goals (SDGs) organised by Shaheed Bhutto Foundation at the SZABIST auditorium on Tuesday.

“Pakistan is ranked too high on the population index and too low on human development index,” the senator said.

He added that the entire nation’s attention was riveted on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s speech on Kashmir at the United Nations and on fighting and winning nuclear wars on social media.

“We failed to take notice of the UNICEF [report] which indicated the state of social development in Pakistan,” Babar said.

He pointed out that UNICEF ranks Pakistan third highest in the number of stunted children under the age of five while 10 million Pakistani children, or over 44 per cent of its child population, suffers from malnutrition and stunting.

The senator said Pakistan has no alternative but to plan to achieve the targets set in UN’s SDGs to avoid imploding under the weight of an exploding population, climate change, environmental degradation and steeply falling health and education standards.

“Pakistan, is among the top 10 countries most threatened by climate change, yet the subject is not on the radar of the Parliament, the government and the political parties,” he warned.

The lawmaker added that the UNICEF report placed Pakistan at 149th amongst the 188 countries in its first global assessment of progress towards the health-related SDGs. He said not only 25 million children were out of school but nearly half of those in schools are still illiterate.

“He [Nawaz] said that the Kashmir cause was solid and genuine and it should not be difficult to dispel the impression created by our adversaries that it was an issue of cross-border terrorism.

However to dispel this perception we must also remove hurdles in the way of prosecuting the Mumbai terror attack accused and also cooperate with investigations in the Pathankot attack,” he said.
