While welcoming the statement of the former President, Asif Ali Zardari, Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo, President PPP Punjab, said here today that the Co-Chairman has perfectly represented the sentiments of the PPP rank and file and the people of Pakistan. He stated this in a statement issued from here today.

He regretted that while the nation was united against terrorism and extremism and standing behind the army whereas the government was dividing the nation by unleashing the political victimization of the political opponents.

He added that Nawaz Sharif was repeating the history of ninety adding he had not learnt any thing from the past mistakes that reflected his mindset that was not prone to appreciating the realities of practical politics so far as the domestic politics was concerned.

He said that Pakistan’s all time enemy, India, was killing the innocent people of Pakistan and the government had turned it guns towards the political opponents instead towards the enemy of the country residing across the boarders.

He observed that it was easy to form a government with majority after doubtful mandate but to run the government without the co-operation of the opposition political parties was not possible. It is a matter of ordinary prudence and the rulers should appreciate it instead of disapproving it, he added.

He pointed out that the nation was facing the existential threat emanating within and without and the government should pay full attention to forge unity in the nation instead of sowing the seeds of disunity to the disadvantage of democracy and the war against terrorism. Such coarse of action is bound to raise the question regarding sense of proportion of the rulers, he added.

He maintained that Nawaz Sharif had not learnt lesson from the mistakes because he was reverting to the politics of political victimization of ninety’s. He is the biggest enemy of his own government and his actions tantamount to repeating the history instead of re-writing the same, he commented.

#WeStandWithAsifZardari: Asif Zardari warns Nawaz Sharif against reverting to the politics of 90’s

Islamabad Aug 31 – Co-Chairperson of the Pakistan People’s Party and the former President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari has said that Mian Nawaz Sharif is repeating the politics of 1990’s. We accepted the results of 2013 General Elections for the sake of democracy, although those elections were RO’s elections. The decisions just announced by the Tribunals have proved our point that the PML-N received outside help and was made to win the elections.
In a statement issued from London today the former President said that at a time when our innocent citizens were being killed by indiscriminate bombing in border villages by the enemy; when Pakistani Army is fighting a decisive war against the terrorists and also fighting at our borders, Mian Nawaz Sharif, instead of challenging the real enemy, is targeting Peoples Party and other political opponents.
The former President said that the steps being taken by the government clearly indicates that they are dividing the nation in an attempt to save their natural allies Taliban and the terrorists and weaken the war against terror.
Asif Ali Zardari said that Pakistan People’s Party stands fully with the Army in the ongoing war against terrorism. We salute our jawans who gave ultimate sacrifice in this war.
He said that first Qasim Zia and son of Senator Bangash were arrested and now Dr Asim has been arrested. Immediately after that warrants for arrest for the former Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani and Makhdoom Amin Fahim who is ill has also been issued. Bureaucrats in Sindh are being harassed by the FIA and NAB. The Chief Secretary of Sindh is on bail. All this unmistakably presents a clear pattern of political harassment and revenge, he said By doing so Sindh has been immobilized, under the direct orders from the Prime Minister House.
Former President of Pakistan said that in Punjab a video surfaced in which a Provincial minister Rana Mushhood is seen receiving money on behalf of Mian brothers, but he has not yet been arrested.
Asif Zardari said that Pakistan Peoples Party is a party of fearless followers who cannot be defeated by the threat of executions, lashing or imprisonment.
It seems that Nawaz Sharif has not learnt any lessons from the past. We are not the ones who fled to Jeddah after seeking pardon. The nation very well knows that the ‘honor’ of applying for pardon by any politician in the country only belongs to Mian Nawaz Sharif.
He said that today Mian Nawaz Sharif is the Prime Minister of the country and Mian Shahbaz Sharif is the Chief Minister of Punjab only because of the Peoples Party. It was the Peoples Party which removed ban from becoming Prime Minister or the Chief Minister for the third time– although it was evident to us that it will only serve the interests of Mian Brothers.
Asif Zardari warned that the politics of revenge should immediately be stopped otherwise it will produce disastrous consequences.
He said that actions being taken by the federal agencies in Sindh are clear violation of the Constitution. If they want to conduct fair accountability, they should first take action against a Federal Minister who has given a confessional statement before a magistrate that he has been involved in money-laundering for the Sharif-brothers. Only then we will know how clean the followers of the N-league are.
He demanded that the report of Justice Najafi on Model Town killing should be made public and all involved in this gruesome murder of innocent people be arrested. He also demanded that all characters involved in the Asghar Khan Case should also be apprehended.
The former President asked that those who killed 14 people, including women in the Model Town tragedy, aren’t they terrorists? Why they are not being arrested? He said that this dark night of injustice will end very soon.

PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reaches Karachi after successful Punjab visit

OKara
Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has on Sunday reached Karachi along with Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari after his successful Punjab visit.

During his stay in Islamabad, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has successful meetings with Punjab Ten districts; District Faisalabad and City Faisalabad, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Gujrat, Lahore, Okara, PakPattan, Chakwal and Bhakkar.

He has directed party legislators to raise the issues of the farming community over which the farmers in Punjab have been agitating for quite sometime.

The PPP chairman met party leaders in Punjab and issued orders regarding party policy in local government elections.

Participants of Punjab’s districts expressed grave concern over the plight of farmers in Punjab and stressed the need for evolving a strategy to rescue the farmers from starvation at the hands of the policies pursued by Nawaz regime.

The meetings vowed that as guarantors of the food security for the two hundred million people of Pakistan the farmers’ vital interests will not be allowed to be sacrificed for the myopic and politically expedient development model pursued by the ML-N government.

The meeting condemned the excessive load shedding in Faisalabad and recalled how the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif used to criticize the PPP for load shedding vowing also that on coming into power he will end load shedding in six months failing which ‘he will change his name’.

The speakers said that instead of ending or even reducing it, the load shedding had increased by almost the double of what it was during the PPP government and asked the Punjab Chief Minister to honor his pledge and change his name as he had failed to end load shedding in six months.

Punjab PPP president Mian Manzoor Wattoo briefed the meeting on the measures taken by the provincial and divisional chapters of the party for the forthcoming local bodies’ polls in the province besides highlighting the pathetic condition of Punjab farmers and stressing the need to reverse to the anti farmers policies pursued by the PML-N government.

The participants welcomed the decision of the party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to reach out to the workers of the Party and apprise himself with the problems and issues.

Thanking the participants of the meetings PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that he will expand the breadth and depth of consultative meetings with party workers. He also expressed grave concern over the deplorable condition of the farmers and said that he had already directed party legislators to agitate the issue in the parliament. Recalling that the last PPP government had fixed wheat support price at a level that brought unprecedented prosperity to farmers he said that the past PPP government had set up the Trading Corporation of Pakistan and the Rice Corporation of Pakistan primarily to protect the interests of the farmers adding that the party will pursue its pro-farmers policies. He called upon the party workers to close their ranks and brace themselves for the challenges that lie ahead.

Agriculture is the mainstay of national economy and the growing frustration among the farming community bodes ill for the national economy, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari warned the government.
Spokesperson Senator Farhatullah Babar said that the PPP chairman asked the party leaders and cadres to reach out to the farmers, hold public meetings and also raise their issues at all forums including parliament to save the people from starvation.
The PPP chairman said that the PPP government’s policies of giving good support price and fixing tariff for tube wells at eight rupees per unit enabled the country to become self sufficient in wheat. As agriculture thrived the national wealth and purchasing power of the rural people also increased, he said.
He demanded subsidy to rice growers as was promised by the government recalling also that the PPP government had purchased potato stocks from farmers when its prices declined steeply so as to save the famers from ruination.
“A strong and vibrant agricultural sector guaranteed food security and no investment should be considered too great for the food security of the 200 million people”, he said and asked the government to revisit its policies towards agriculture sector.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also expressed solidarity with the tenants of the farmlands in Okara and other towns in their heroic struggle for their rights and vowed that the PPP will not abandon them.
He said this when the PPP delegation from Okara drew his attention towards the atrocities committed against the tenants of the farmlands by the PML-N government.
He recalled that a few weeks before her martyrdom Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto had while hailing the heroic struggle of the tenants on the farmlands in Okara promised that the PPP would not abandon them.
Following in the steps of my martyred mother I pledge that I will not abandon these tenants who have been the victims of state brutality for long, he said.
The atrocities committed against the tenants and how their lands were being grabbed is damaging the image of the country, he said.
He said a Senate body report sometime back had also lamented the massive human rights violations of the tenants and the filing of false cases against them and recommended that the investigations into cases should be entrusted to agencies outside Okara.
The PPP Chairman demanded that the recommendations of the senate body on resolving the tenants’ issues be implemented in letter and spirit.

The meetings held separately in Zardari house Islamabad were also attended by Ms Faryal Talpur MNA, former Prime Ministers Yousuf Raza Gillani and Raja Pervez Ashraf, Punjab President Mian Manzoor Watto, vice president PPP Senator Sherry Rehman, Information Secretary Qamar Zaman Kaira, Tanveer Ashraf Kaira General Secretary PPP Punjab, Jamil Soomro media advisor to Chairman PPP, ex MNAs Nadeem Afzal Chan, Mehrin Anwar Raja and Fouzia Habib.

Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo demands discontinuing of entry test system to get admission in Medical Colleges

11938192_1469369646700088_1380065791_n
Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo, President Punjab PPP, has demanded the discontinuing of the entry test system in Punjab for the students seeking admission in the Medical Colleges; he said this in a statement issued from here today.

He said that the entry test was anti-merit and discriminatory in its nature because students who got 950 marks out of 1000 in the FSC examinations might not get admission in the Medical College due to the entry test. The weightage given to the entry test is against merit imperatives and flout it mercilessly, he added.

He recalled that in 1986-87 legislation was passed to introduce merit in the Medical Colleges and the Engineering Universities strictly based on merit and merit alone determined by the results of FSC examination.

The parents and students were totally satisfied with the observance of merit for seeking admission in professional colleges and there was no complaint from students who were denied the admission if they secured required merit in the exams of FSC.

The same legislation also done away the quota system of Governor, Chief Minister, Principals of the Colleges and the system was working perfectly as was manifested by the no complaint from any side. It also addressed the illicit practice of recommendations from the top, he added.

He observed that the entry system in vogue was heavily weighted against the students who came from the Urdu medium background and favored the English medium students. It is discriminatory because it shrinks the prospects of the commoner students in getting admission although they got more numbers in the FSC results as compared to others who got admission.

He pointed out that the entry test was total injustice to the students and their parents as it dampened the prospects of becoming doctors simply because they could not perform as per criterion specified in the tyrannical entry test.

He regretted that the government was least pushed to rectify the situation which was heavily against the students hailing from the rural background and from the poor families.

She has said, “History repeating itself selective victimisation of the PPP continues”

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

This was absurd and clear victimisation first Dr. Asim Hussain and now Former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani, she added.

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

By using hashtag #IamWithPPP Aseefa Bhutto Zardari vowed that the PPP will fight this.

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

She maintained that we had never been afraid of jail but to accuse a party that had suffered the most from terrorism to be supporting terrorism was absurd.

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

“We had always appeared before the courts however the justice system had a long history of discriminating against us” she concluded.
