Karachi. 28.2.2015: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MNAs Mir Ejaz Hussain Jakhrani, Nawab Wassan and Shahjehan Balouch had said the additional perks and facilities being utelised by former Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry were a burden on poor masses of the country. The fromer CJ was still using a 6000CC bullet proof car along with fuel and maintenance expenses at the national exchequer’s cost.
They said the former CJ had during his tenure as CJ claimed to be the minaret of justice and pro-masses entity, However, except extra judicial activism, no concrete efforts for the welfare of common man were missing on his part.
Meanwhile, the former CJ continued to enjoy extra benefits such as a 6000 CC bullet proof car along with fuel and maintenance from the government, which at the end had cost the common man to suffer.
They asked the former CJ that for making a manifest of self-accountability, he should relinquish all additional perks and facilities for the sake of common man. However, he should continue to enjoy with all perks and benefits as per law for which he was entitled.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Rehman Malik on Saturday said that a first step has been taken in the new working of a PPP and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) coalition for the upcoming Senate elections.
He went on to say that candidates from both parties will be elected unopposed.
He further said that, under the formula designed by the coalition parties, on the technocrat seat MQM’s Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif will replace him (Rehman Malik).
He also said that similarly, MQM’s Abdul Qadir Khanzada has withdrawn in favour of PPP’s Farooq Naik.
The PPP senator added that Syed Zafar Ali Shah, the lone candidate of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) from Sindh, has taken back his nomination papers.
Addressing a Workers Convention on Friday, he said that government would not hold local bodies elections due to the well-placed fear of their electoral defeat, he stated.
He argued that the popularity graph of the ruling Party was at the lowest rung due to the torturous load shedding of electricity , non-availability of gas even to domestic consumers and the worsening law and order situation those had made the lives of the common people miserable in the province.
People are revisiting their opinion by judging the PPP previous government as much better than this government, he declared.
Wattoo declared among the cheering crowd, It was his party’s target to form next government in Punjab.
He said that the workers were the valuable asset of the Party and announced that their recommendations would be decisive factor in awarding tickets to the potential candidates to contest the elections in future. The candidate will chase them seeking their help in getting Party ticket, he added.
He held out an assurance to the workers that their grievances would be addressed comprehensively if the PPP forms its government in the province of Punjab. He pointed out that the workers had been suffering because after 1977 PPP could not form government in the province and PML (N) remained the ruling Party that meted out step motherly treatment to them to the extent of victimization.
Delegations of Peoples Youth Organization and Peoples Students Federation called on the General Secretary of the PYO Center and Member provincial Assembly Punjab Mian Khurram Jahnagir Wattoo at the PPP Office Sahiwal During the Workers Convention.
Mian Khurram Wattoo, while talking to the delegations, has said that the PPP had roots in the people, while youth and students are were its great asset.
He said in the next general elections, the PPP would again get an overwhelming majority in Punjab as well as in the center with the help of the youth and students.
He maintained that Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was a genuine representative of the country’s youth adding that Pakistan needed young leadership with a political vision and the PPP under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal would change the dynamics of politics and steer the country out of the present challenges and lead it towards development and prosperity.
